The Sunshine senior women’s side will now be coached by Rafiu Oseni as the new manager and will be assisted by Nike Adekunle and former captain of the club, Odunayo Adejoro.

Making this announcement on Thursday was Ondo State Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye who noted that the new appointments are with immediate effect.

The Commissioner noted that the repositioning was aimed at restructuring football on the state.

The Nigeria Football Federation had mandated clubs across the Federation to establish women’s and youth teams.

This is geared towards ensuring the continual production of talents and also to engender gender inclusivity in the game.

Sunshine Queens have produced several national team players to the various women’s national teams.

The Akure-based have also been winners of several league titles.
