Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi scored his fifth Championship goal for Leicester City on Saturday in the club’s 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion at the King Power stadium.

Ndidi was on hand to score in the 22nd minute although his impressive game was tainted by the yellow card he received which was his fifth booking of the season.

Enzo Maresca’s side have five games left in the current season and a win on Tuesday against Southampton will mean an instant promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

Ndidi was in action for the full duration of the game but the Foxes could not have Ndidi’s injured international teammate, Kelechi Iheanacho.

On the opposing side, Josh Maja played the last eight minutes of the game for the Baggies while Semi Ajayi was unused substitute.

Leicester’s second goal was scored by the ageless Jamie Vardy in the 65th minute but he had missed a penalty just before the half time break.

West Brom’s Jed Wallace reduced the arrears for the away side in the closing stages of the match.
