Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is mindful of the threat that Championship side Coventry pose in Saturday’s semifinals meeting and insists that the team must not be underrated.

The Dutch coach faced the cameras in his pre match press conference on Friday where also talked about the decision of the FA to scrap the replays of the FA Cup.

“Of course they are dangerous, they are in the semi-final, then it’s logical. Last season they were not far away from promotion to the Premier League so they’re doing a fantastic job over there. We have seen the game against Wolves in the quarter-final, the mentality is fabulous. We have to play to our best levels.”

Erik ten Hag on the decision to scrap FA Cup replays said: “It’s very sad for the British football culture but I also think it is also inevitable, and no-one can do anything for it. It’s due to the overload in the schedule, and that’s dictated by FIFA and UEFA.

“We are a big competition, and we have a big influence and a big impact, but there are so many other countries and there is so much overload on the players and it has to stop. As I said, I feel really sorry and sad for the clubs in England but, for top players, we have to make some space in the schedule.”

The former Ajax handler then talked about his relationship with his players especially Jadon Sancho who was ostracized and allowed to train only with the youth team before his move to Borussia Dortmund.
