“My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family, the government, and the people of Borno State. May Allah give them the fortitude to bear the loss.”

Chiroma, who was born in Maiduguri,  died on 2 April 2024, at the age of 91. He was the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) president from 1984 to 1988 when he was forced out of office by General Babangida’s military government.
