Bayern Munich had to came back against Serie A side Lazio to win the tie. The first leg had ended 1-0 in favour of the Serie A side 1-0 in February 14 in Rome.

Tuesday night’s victory means the trophy hunt isn’t over for Harry Kane just yet who left Tottenham Hotspur in search of an elusive title befitting of a world class player like him deserves.

Bayern were in danger of elimination in the hands of the Italians moreso the reputation of Tuchel despite the seeming calmness about an agreement that he leaves in the summer,

The German coach even broke his big toe prior to the kick off of the game and uncharacteristically was left seated on the dugout for the entire duration of the match.

“I kicked a box in the dressing room during the motivational speech and hurt my big toe. I don’t think I can take the shoe off. The team was wondering why I was sitting for almost 90 minutes,” Tuchel explained after the match.

Bayern dis not limp to the finish and the 3-0 win shows that they may have lost the German hegemony – as Bayer Leverkusen are close to being crowned champions for the season – but could be considered as one of the likely contenders for the Champions League diadem.
