Nigeria’s Governors Forum Redeem N200m Pledge To Super Eagles

Ahead of the semi-final clash with South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in less than 2 hours time, the Progressive Governors’ Forum have redeemed the pledge of N200m ($142,454) made to the Super Eagles team, Prime Business Africa reports.

According to a press statement from the Nigerian Ministry of Sports, the minister, John Owan Enoh secured the money for the team.

The minister, who had served in the Nigerian legislative arm as a senator commended the enthusiasm of Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State who is the Chairman of the Progressive Govenors’ Forum.

The commendation also extended to all members of the Forum for the swift action taken immediately he spoke with the Forum Chairman on the need for the Progressive Governors to motivate the team ahead of the semi finals match against the South Africans.

He also confirmed that the complete sum of two million naira has already been redeemed to the players by the Progressive Governors’ Forum
