Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, disclosed that the Federal Government has embarked on repairing more than 320 roads nationwide as part of measures to combat insecurity.
This was made known in a meeting at the Federal Ministry of Works. The gathering, attended by Minister of Defence Mohammed Badaru Abubarkar and Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, focused on fortifying collaborations to elevate the nation’s internal security through a revolutionary approach to road infrastructure development.

The minister expressed commitment to hastening the President’s directive, emphasizing the focus on interstate routes linked to security operations, palliative jobs, and key economic hubs.
Providing insights into the government’s efforts, Umahi explained that the road upgrades would not only enhance internal security but also strengthen military operations nationwide.
Lieutenant General Lagbaja, speaking on behalf of the military team, emphasized the significance of the meeting in aligning road upgrades with military field operations.
“Overall, improved security is our objective, and we will continue to pursue that,” COAS Lagbaja stated, expressing optimism about the promises made by the Minister of Works to support critical roads impacting military operations.
