Multichoice Secures Rights To Broadcast All 52 AFCON 2023 Games 

Multichoice, the parent company of DStv, on Wednesday, announced it would be broadcasting the African Cup of Nations tournament holding in Cote d’Ivoire.

There was uncertainty over the possiof the South African-owned pay television giants to broadcast the 52 games of the tournament but it has now been confirmed officially.

The 34th edition of the tournament will hold between January 13 and February 11, 2024.

Earlier last Wednesday, the company had announced that it would not be broadcasting on its platform because it failed to secure the broadcasting rights of the continent’s biggest footballing event on its SuperSport channels.

“SuperSport Channel will not broadcast the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 scheduled for January 13th – February 11th, 2024, because the channel has not secured the rights to broadcast the tournament.

“However, AFCON 2023 games will be available through our partner broadcast stations on Free to Air (FTA) channels,” a statement from Supersport had revealed.

However, a, week later, there is good news for numerous customers if the Supersport channels especially in Nigeria which boosts huge viewership.

Making a U-turn on it’s earlier decision Wednesday via X, @DstvNg announced that it will broadcast all the 52 matches on Supersports.

“🇳🇬No gree for anybody! Watch all 52 matches of the #afcon2023    on @supersports,” it tweeted.

The Supersport Blitz channel on Dstv channel 200 and Gotv channel 60 also announced in their news bulletin in the 11pm hour.
