Tinubu Removes FAAN, NCAA Other Aviation Agencies’ Directors After Sacking CEOs

The Nigerian government has sacked all directors of different agencies in the Ministry of Aviation.

This comes less than 24 hours after the removal of all heads of the agencies from their offices.

This was confirmed in a statement signed by Odutayo Oluseyi, the spokesperson for the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, on Thursday in Abuja.

According to the statement, the concerned directors were instructed by the government to immediately hand over their responsibilities to the top officials in their respective directorates.

“Following the change in the leadership of the Aviation and Aerospace Development Agencies’ CEOs and MDs aimed to reposition the Aviation industry and ensure safety and efficient air travel experience by Nigerians in line with the Renewed Hope agenda of Mr. President, I am directed to inform all DIRECTORS of the following agencies that they have been relieved of their appointments forthwith and should hand over to the most senior officer in their various directorates with immediate effect,” the statement read in part.

This decision has no effect on the board secretaries or legal advisers of the agencies, the statement further indicated.

“All affected directors have been urged to adhere strictly to the instructions provided,” Oluseyi stated.

Prime Business Africa had reported that the Federal Government on Wednesday announced sacked the following: Mr. Kabir Mohammed of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN); Captain Musa Nuhu, Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA); Mr. Tayib Odunowo of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA); Akinola Olateru of the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB); Alkali Modibbo, Rector, Nigerian College of Aviation Technology and Prof. Mansur Matazu of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET).

President Bola Tinubu approved new appointments to replace them.
