Sit-at-home: South-east Candidates To Retake Missed WAEC Exams

FG Considers Second Chance For South-East WASSCE Candidates

THE Federal Ministry of Education have announced a second chance to candidates who missed the 2021 West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) in South-East, due to the Sit-at-home exercise.

Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr. Sonny Echono, disclosed this while monitoring some examination centres in Abuja, yesterday.

Echono, who condemned the disruption of examinations in the South-East, reiterated that the ministry will put modalities in place to ensure that candidates who missed the examination in the South-East are given other opportunities to write the examination.

The Permanent Secretary expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the examination across the country, noting that WAEC currently has over 19,000 centres across the country with over 1.57 million registered candidates.

He also emphasised that WAEC was complying with all the standards and ethics of examinations, and the board is working very hard to ensure that cases, incidents and possibilities of examinations malpracticebare curbed to the barest minimum.
