The allocated sum for the governor’s office vehicles forms part of a more extensive N19 billion worth of contracts approved by the Sokoto State cabinet. Among the notable projects greenlit during this session include the construction of 47 cluster roads in the Tudun Wada and Unguwar Rogo areas of the Sokoto metropolis, totaling N8.9 billion.

Additionally, the cabinet gave the go-ahead for the construction and rehabilitation of township roads in the Runjin Sambo area, amounting to N2.1 billion.

Other allocations involve N816.2 million for the rehabilitation of Bidinga Road and approximately N800 million for the reconstruction of several roads and roundabouts in Kalambaina, Roul-Mairuwa, and Tsohuwar Kasuwa areas.

Furthermore, the cabinet endorsed a N2.2 billion contract for the construction of the Gande-Silame rural road and earmarked N1.9 billion for the installation of solar-powered street lights across 44 roads within the Sokoto metropolis.

In a notable move, the cabinet also nullified the previous administration’s revocation order on the construction of Gidan Salanke Housing Estate, signaling a remobilization of the project.

Commissioner Danchadi emphasized that these approvals are in line with Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto’s commitments made during his campaign, aiming to enhance infrastructure development across Sokoto State.
