Enyimba FC midfielder Chibuike Nwaiwu who was declared to have gone AWOL by the Aba side after he failed to report to camp without the knowledge or authorization of the club, has been spotted training in Israel with another club.

Nwaiwu joined the People’s Elephant last year from Heartland FC, and the 20-year-old defensive midfielder has been a regular since making his debut for the nine-time Nigeria league champions.

On Tuesday, November 7, Enyimba FC released an official statement declaring the player wanted, and charged him to have absconded from team duties.

New pictures of Nwaiwu have surfaced, with the player training with a new club outside the shores of Africa, sparking wild questions amongst fans and the media.

In the statement released by Enyimba, the club reinstated that Nwaiwu is an eligible member of the team because he is still under a legally binding contract and has not been released or involved in negotiations to join another club.

On the flip side, the club the defensive midfielder currently has training sessions with is undisclosed, hinting that he might be on trial ahead of a possible switch away from Finidi George’s side.

It is also unknown at the time of this report how Enyimba got to find out about his possible whereabouts but the picture of the player in a training session was circulated in a sports journalists’ Whatsapp platform privy to Prime Business Africa.

Two-time African champions, Enyimba were knocked out of the inaugural African Football League quarter-finals by Morrocan side, Wydad Casablanca, losing both legs, but amassed a million dollars in compensation for participating at that stage of the competition.
