In the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, Gaza has reported its third communications outage. On Sunday, telecom operators reported significant disruptions, leaving aid agencies struggling to contact their teams on the ground.

Paltel, one of Gaza’s prominent operators, declared a “complete interruption” of its telecom and network services, citing the severance of previously reconnected routes from the Israeli side as the cause. This setback has left countless Gazans without essential connectivity.

Jawwal and Ooredoo Palestine, other key operators in the region, also issued statements confirming the complete disruption of their telecom and internet services.

Internet monitoring firm NetBlocks emphasized the severity of the situation, highlighting a “new collapse in connectivity” in the Gaza Strip, with particular repercussions for Paltel, the last major operator serving the area.

The United Nations Relief Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and the Palestine Red Crescent Society are among the humanitarian agencies grappling with the consequences of this communication blackout.

UNRWA reported a significant loss of contact with its team, further complicating its efforts to provide support in the conflict-ridden region. This marks the third communications blackout in the past 10 days, cutting off Gazans from the rest of the world.
