Nigeria’s bleak chances of qualifiying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in USA, Canada and Mexico following the uninspiring draws against supposedly weaker Group C opponents Lesotho and Zimbabwe has received a huge boost on Tuesday, reports Prime Business Africa.

This comes after other group rivals faced off and South Africa were beaten 2-0 by Rwanda Tuesday evening while Benin Republic held Lesotho to a goalless draw.

The team coached by Jose Peseiro had played out 1-1 draws against the Lesotho and Zimbabwe sides with most Nigerians already giving up on the team’s chances.

Innocent Nshuti and Gilbert Mugisha were the scorers for Rwanda within 12 minutes of the other.

Peseiro blamed the Nigerians’ second 1-1 draw with the Brave Warriors on jet lag.

Meanwhile reports has emerged that the supposed contract agreement with Egyptian top side Zamalek was a false alarm as he has not signed any deal with another team under current contract.
