Rescue Nigeria Project is a political movement that was launched on Tuesday by former Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Attahiru Jega, foremost Professor of Political Economy, Pat Utomi, alongside other notable politicians in Nigeria.

The goal of RNP movement is to provide alternative political platform to counter the dominance of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and other major political parties.

NCFront which is also a political movement has the goal of mobilizing Nigerian citizens to form a formidable political platform ahead of 2023 elections in order to avoid election rigging and save Nigeria’s democracy

The group disclosed that it is set to hold talks with RNP, EndSars Movement, Nigeria Intervention Movement (NIM), and all other variants of the third force political movement with the intention of merging to form a strong political bloc.

The statement reads, “NCFront Technical Committee on Merger of political parties and stakeholders being coordinated by Dr Tanko Yunusa, Arch Ezekiel Nyak Etok, Chief Rasaq Eyiowuawi and others, already has the mandate given by the National Steering Committee of the NCFront to carefully engage all stakeholders across party and sectional divides to work out template and structures for this compulsory ideological fusion for the third force movement.”

The group also said, it was working towards launching what it called “All Stakeholders Political Coalition for Electoral Reforms” on October 1st to push for comprehensive reform of the electoral processes in the country.

“In the meantime, as a way forward in this direction, the NCFront leadership has decided to mobilize and bring every credible stakeholder and likeminded political party to come together and launch an emergency national political coalition to champion the adoption of Electronic Transmission of Election Results for the 2023 elections.

“To this end, like minded progressive political leaders, stakeholders and groups in the leading political parties have been contacted and have agreed to join forces with the new coalition to be launched in Abuja on Friday, October 1st 2021.

“Others expected to play major roles in this new political coalition are respected Labour and Civil Society Leaders and notable Elders, who have also agreed to serve as the new coalition’s advisers,” the group stated.
