20 Super Eagles Stars Arrive London Camp For Unity Cup

Super Eagles players have arrived their London camp ahead of the 2025 Unity Cup tournament starting on Tuesday, reports Prime Business Africa.

The Unity Cup tournament 2025 will feature Nigeria, Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica – a tournament designed to promote football and cultural unity among African and Caribbean nations.

A total of 20 players have arrived camp as at the time of this report with five more expected to complete the roll call by the end of Monday.

Leading the cast of players in camp is captain Ahmed Musa who is making a return to the team.

Other notable Eagles stars in London are; Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Moses Simon, Cyreil Dessers, Semi Ajayi, Frank Onyeka, Nathan Tella, Igho Ogbu and Felix Agu who was only recently cleared by FIFA to play international football for Nigeria.

Nine home-based players are in the party for the tournament that was last held in 2004.

They include: Junior Nduka, Papa Mustapha, Ifeanyi Onyebuchi, Sodiq Ismaila, Waliu Ojetoye, Saviour Isaac, Collins Ugwueze, Sikiru Alimi and Abubakar Adamu.

Head coach, Eric Chelle, is hoping to integrate the foreign and home-based players ahead of the resumption of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in September and October.

Also expected in camp are; Samuel Chukwueze, Tolu Arokodare, Chrisantus Uche, Maduka Okoye, Stanley Nwabali, Bruno Onyemaechi and Amas Obasogie.

The Unity Cup tournament 2025 begins on Tuesday albeit the Eagles’ first game comes up on Wednesday May 28 against the Black Stars of Ghana.

The Black Galaxies stopped Nigeria from qualifying for the 2023 African Nations Championship.

Chelle is keen to see some new set of players integrated into the team as some players gradually reach the twilight of their international careers.

The home-based contingent in the team are hopeful of impressing in the tournament and be part of the team to the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) to hold in August and hosted by Kenya, Angola and Tanzania.
