Among the plethora of removed content, which accounted for approximately 90% of all global content removals, violations spanned TikTok’s policies encompassing Integrity and Authenticity, Privacy and Security, Mental and Behavioural Health, Safety, and Civility, among others.

The platform also took stringent actions against accounts found to be spam or fake, resulting in the removal of 73.6 million accounts. Additionally, TikTok eradicated 348.7 million likes, 211.3 million fake followers, and 7.2 billion fake follow requests attributed to ‘automated or inauthentic mechanisms.’

In a bid to maintain an advertising experience aligned with community values, TikTok reported the removal of 1.3 million ads violating its policies, signifying an increase from the previous quarter.

“We strive to foster an advertising experience that is trustworthy, enjoyable, and aligned with the values of our vibrant TikTok community,” the company affirmed.

Despite these removals, TikTok continues to stand out as one of the most utilized social media platforms globally. Its user-generated revenue has soared, reaching $3.8 billion in consumer spending from app stores in 2023, contributing to a total revenue of $10 billion.

Data.ai’s recent report highlights TikTok’s monumental success, being the first mobile app to generate over $1 billion in worldwide consumer spending in a single quarter, marking a remarkable growth trajectory throughout the year.

As TikTok’s influence persists and revenue skyrockets, the platform remains committed to stringent measures to ensure user safety, content integrity, and an enjoyable experience for its diverse community.
