US’ Apple Tech Inventor’s Nigerian Wife Saves Black Kids From Prison

‘Despite Her Status, Nneka Helps Neighbourhood kids Do Their Homework’

NIGERIA’S Nneka Uzoh, a tech expert and data analyst, who got married to United States’ Apple app inventor Jeofery Kibuule on Saturday, has been described as kind-hearted, even to a fault. She saved three black kids from jail term after a US judge convicted and sentenced them for burgling her home and carting away all her belongings.

The black kids were said to have been arrested and subsequently tried one month after Nneka reported the case to the police. “I cannot stand to be responsible for sending black kids to prison,” Nneka was quoted as having appealed to the police and the judge. She also followed through with the due process, leading to commuting of the kids’ sentences to lighter penalties and their subsequent release from detention.

Her father, Engineer Cyprian Emeka Uzoh, who is also a serial inventor with more than 328 US and global patents, spoke to Prime Business Africa shortly after Nneka’s Catholic wedding to Kibuule in San Francisco on Saturday, July 24, 2021.

Painting a picture of Nneka’s commitment to African culture and values, Mr Uzoh said, rather than purchase a car as her peers did, Nneka opted to save money to buy her own home (apartment). Engineer Uzoh described his daughter as being positively hardworking, significantly accommodating and boldly responsible. He said she was deserving of the groom, Kibuule, who he also called “a good man.”

Despite her status, Nneka, as the father told Prime Business Africa, derived so much pleasure in helping street black kids of the neighbourhoods do their “home works,” teaching them to become useful members of the US community.

In reference to her love for education among youths, Mr Uzoh said that Nneka’s active participation in the African American Shakesparian Group as the youngest Board Member attests to her commitment to the ideals of practical learning.

Prime Business Africa had livestreamed the Apple Inventor Kibuule’s US Marriage With Nigeria’s Nneka at 10.30pm on Saturday.

It was seemingly low-keyed with all evidences of physical distancing; yet, it was a global wedding by all standards, as the world stood still for the young couple and their parents in San Francisco.

At least 1,430 Nigerians participated in the wedding through the Prime Business Africa livestreaming. They joined the rest of the western world to observe the historic event.

Engineer Uzoh told Prime Business Africa that her daughter is “a special breed, a kind-hearted one,” who understands the dignity of hard work and integrity.

Dr. Kibuule, 31, made headlines in the tech world after Apple launched the Apple Watch Series 6.

Dr. Kibuule was among the brains behind the blood oxygen app, following his five-year work in Silicon Valley.
Apple was quoted as saying that measurements taken with the blood oxygen app should be only “for general fitness and wellness purposes.”

US-based Nneka Uzoh met Kibuule in the US where both of them live and work as tech experts.
She hails from Ojoto, the headquarters of Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria.
Kibuule had visited Ojoto shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic to fulfil the Ojoto traditional requirement for the marriage.

Emeka Uzoh, a US-based serial inventor and father of the bride has many patents to his credit and has won multiple awards for technological breakthroughs in the US since 1978.
He is from Ire Village in Ojoto, Anambra State.
