The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) environment is set to receive a major facelift as the Students’ Union Government of the institution announces plans to embark on a clean-up UNN project.
The environmental clean-up initiative organised in collaboration with the Don’t Litter Initiative group, scheduled to take place on Saturday, 28th January 2023 at 8 am is expected to kick off from the Student Affairs Department of the University.
The institution has over time suffered the problem of improper waste disposal by students, business operators, and other members of the university community, a problem which has defaced many parts of the first indigenous university.
The student body under the leadership of Abuchi Michael said it deemed it necessary to take up the initiative to rid the institution of all forms of waste.
Side attractions expected at the event include music and games as well as feeding arrangements for every student who turns out.
The student body said it hopes to sustain the initiative with the cooperation of students in order to lead the charge in keeping the school environment clean.
