“We’re scrutinizing unpaid certificates, price variations, and approvals, seeking a way forward, “Umahi stated during preparations for the upcoming budget defense session with the National Assembly Joint Committees on December 11th, 2023.

The minister underscored the involvement of President Tinubu’s economic team and the Federal Executive Committee, ensuring their awareness of the mounting debts.

“This internal review will enable external consultants to verify projects for informed decisions,” Umahi explained.

Contractors affected by the owed payments were urged to present documentation supporting their claims to the committees between December 12th and December 22nd, 2023, fostering transparency and resolution.

The venue for submissions is set at the Honourable Minister’s Conference Room in the Federal Ministry of Works Headquarters in Mabushi, Abuja, from 9 am to 7 pm.
