TREM Atlanta Felicitates With Bishop Peace Okonkwo At 70

By Kingsley Dike

Bishop Peace Okonkwo has always been in the fore front of the Christian Pentecostal Faith Movement in Nigeria serving beside her husband Dr. Mike Okonkwo, the Presiding Bishop of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) in establishing TREM and doing good works for humanity and the body of Christ around the world.

She for example told all admirers around the world to celebrate her 70th Birthday by doing something good for society and serving the less privileged. Thus, TREM, Atlanta (God’s Embassy, Smyrna Ga USA) kicked off her birthday festivities in North America last Saturday 4 June 2022 by feeding the poor and homeless in downtown, Atlanta.

According to Mrs. Bisi Olaoye, one of the parishioner who organised and took part in feeding the homeless event, “it is a hallmark of Bishop Peace Okonkwo that the church must serve and cater to needs of the poor”.

But more importantly is Bishop Peace Okonkwo’s strong advocacy for women and education of the girl-child. Bishop Okonkwo created the International Women Prayer Conference (IWPC), a non-denominational annual gathering and prayer conference of women around the world focusing on the family as the building block of a wholesome Christian faith through worship and support network. The head of the IWPC in Atlanta and wife of the host pastor of TREM, Atlanta Pastor Chi Imuseh and Director of Operations Mrs. Rolly Okome both agree that the IWPC is now a major Christian event and draw in North America and around the world supporting scholarships for girls education. That is why Mrs. Tilda Dike, a long time parishioner of TREM, Atlanta ( God’s Embassy, Smyrna) is grateful to God for granting Bishop Okonkwo the grace and leadership in strengthening families through the IWPC and providing the framework for women’s engagement in supporting one another and promoting good deeds in the Christiandom. The host Pastor of TREM, Atlanta (God’s Embassy, Smyrna), Pastor Fred Imuseh congratulates the woman he calls affectionately ” Big Mom” on her birthday and profusely praised and thanked God for her life of service and devotion to God and the Christian faith.
