3. Policeman Killed During Rescue of Kidnap Victim in Edo

A Nigerian police officer was shot dead on Thursday during an operation to rescue a Nigerian judiciary official who was abducted in Edo State.

The abducted official, Precious Aigbonoga, who is the president of the customary court in Edo State, was rescued unhurt by the police.

6. Petrol Scarcity May Linger Till June 2023 – IPMAN

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), has said the current petrol scarcity might continue till June 2023 when the government was expected to end the subsidy.

7. Kerosene Price Rises By 100% In 1 Year – Report

The price of Kerosene, also known as cooking kerosene increased by over 100 per cent in the last one year.

This was revealed in the latest data released by the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics for November 2022.

The report revealed that the average retail price of kerosene per litre rose by about 146 per cent from N441 in November 2021 to N1,083 per litre in the corresponding period last year.

8. Major Presidential Candidates Compete for Kano Votes

As the general elections draw closer, the major presidential candidates have swung into an intense campaign, this time in Kano where they scramble for votes of residents of the North West state.

Kano has over 5 million registered voters. According to INEC data, Kano comes second after Lagos in terms of states with the highest population of voters.

The Nigerian government has realised over N1.8 billion from the sale of forfeited assets says Attorney General of the Federation and Minister for Justice, Abubakar Malami.

10. Insecurity: Gunmen Kill 4 Vigilante Operatives in Anambra

Unidentified gunmen have killed four operatives of the Anambra Vigilante Services and set five buildings ablaze.

The incident reportedly happened in Ihiala Local Government Area of the State on Thursday.
