Tinubu Casts Vote, As INEC Officials Yet To Arrive In Some Parts Of Lagos

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has just cast his vote in Lagos State.

The APC Presidential candidate exercised his franchise at the Polling Unit 085, Ward 3, Sunday Adigun Alausa, Ikeja in Lagos.

Tinubu had during the 2019 election, voted at Polling Unit 047, but it was changed to Alausa prior to 2023 polls.

Tinubu’s wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, voted earlier before the arrival of her husband.

Tinubu while addressing newsmen said he is confident of victory in the end, adding that democracy has come to stay in Nigeria.

Speaking on the turnout of voters, the APC presidential candidate said: “This is expected, we need a good turnout and that is the adoption and the commitment to democracy and the democratic process must take place.”

Meanwhile, officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are yet to arrive at some polling units in some parts of Lagos. At the Navy Gate polling Unit, INEC officials were yet to be seen as at 9:45 am.

A voter present at the polling unit, who is a school teacher said “One man came to claim that there is a logistics problem, we should be patient.”

At Ola -Ifa Ejigbo Bucknor Polling Unit, no INEC official has arrived as of 10:35 am. People were sighted waiting for the arrival of officials and materials to cast their votes. Our correspondent reports that no security agent is present at the polling unit at the time of filling this report.

Accreditation is yet to begin at most polling units in the Ikorodu area of Lagos due to logistic reasons as of 10.00 a.m. This was caused by the late arrival of electoral materials.
