The Place Of Prophecy In Sports Predictions: Super Eagles Case Study

Not so many times do you see attention given to what clerics say about the outcomes of sporting events – be it rightly or wrongly predicted.

Most times, what we have is prophets predicting the outcomes of political activities.

However recently we have seen two ‘Men of God’ predict the outcomes of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

One of the prophetic messages comes from Primate Elijah Ayodele who before the start of the tournament rightly predicted that the Super Eagles will not win the 33rd edition of the AFCON.

Ayodele of INRI Envagelical Spiritual Church revealed that the Eagles will not win the tournament in Cameroon and will be eliminated in a way that suggests that the Eagles will be unjustly ousted.

With the controversial penalty decision witnessed in the match against Tunisia and the red card handed to Alex Iwobi, it is rational to say that the prophetic message about the Eagles is indeed accurate.

Primate Ayodele predicted that the Eagles will however qualify for the World Cup at the expense of Ghana but has warned against relieving Austin Eguavoen of the Eagles coaching role before the 2022 FIFA World playoffs.

A yet to be identified prophet in a viral video afterwards predicted that a North African team will win the tournament in Cameroon.

Egypt is the only north African team left in the tournament. The Pharaohs will face hosts Cameroon in the semi-finals clash on Thursday. It is just about 48 hours away from us confirming it.

Should these prophets’ messages come to pass, it might be a new vista in Sports predictions. One that is divinely approved.
