Addressing journalists in Port Harcourt on Thursday, Wike questioned the authority of the party’s NWC to suspend Mr Fayose.
He also questioned the decision of the NWC to summon the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, to appear before a disciplinary committee for a similar allegation of anti-party activities.
Wike stated that the Benue governor, will not appear before any so-called disciplinary committee.
He, however, maintained that the National Chairman of the PDP, Iyorchia Ayu, is the one to be suspended for disobeying the constitution of the party on the zoning of political positions.
He also knocked Ayu who according to him, failed to deliver his polling unit and political ward during the just-concluded general elections, alleging that Ayu has just begun “the mother of all political wars.”
Prime Business Africa had reported that the PDP, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, announced the suspension of Fayose, ex-Senate President, Anyi Pius Anyim, Prof Dennis Ityavyar, and Aslam Aliyu for anti-party activities.
The suspension took effect from Thursday, 23rd March 2023.
