Super Eagles Star Ndidi Reveals Positive Update On Knee Injury

Super Eagles of Nigeria and Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is on the mend from a serious knee injury that ruled him out of Nigeria’s 2022 FIFA World Cup playoffs against Ghana in March and a couple of games for Leicester City towards the end of the 2021/2022 season.

Ndidi copped the knee injury in March during Leicester City’s Europa Conference League round of 16 tie against Rennes and had to undergo surgery.

“I have been working my way back,” Ndidi told LCFC.
“I went away for two weeks and came back early. The body has already adapted to it. It’s good. For me, I’m in a much better place.

“It’s good to be back with the lads and seeing all the lads. We’re still waiting for some of the lads but it will be good when everyone comes back and we can look forward to what we want to achieve.”

“The training is just to get the body toned up. As soon as the body gets ready for it, the games coming up are just another way of getting more fitness and getting us ready for more games coming.

“I just feel training is getting the body ready for the games ahead. The first game is to get game-time and gain more fitness.”

They begin their pre season friendlies with a match against English National League side Notts County on the 9th of July.

They also face Belgian side OH Leuven, Championship sides Hull City, Preston North End, and Derby County.

Leicester City would then conclude with a game against Sevilla on the 31st of July.
