Stock Market Investors Pocket N126.38 billion, Equity Cap Up 0.41%

Investors in Eterna, ETranzact and others on the gainers’ list made N126.38 billion at the end of trading on Tuesday, as the stock market capitalisation rose by 0.41 per cent, increasing from N30.38 trillion to N30.51 trillion.

Also, the All-Share Index hit 56,038.85 ASI after appreciating by 232.14 basis points from 55,806.71 ASI.

The value of investment dropped on Tuesday to 322.49 million shares, worth N5.82 billion, traded in 6,165 deals. 

Equity investors transacted less than they did on Monday when 369.77 million shares were traded in 7,221 deals, valued at N19.84 billion. 

Top five gainers

  • ETranzact’s share appreciated by N0.40 kobo to rise from N4 to N4.40 kobo per share.
  • Eterna grew by N1, up from N10.15 kobo to N11.15 kobo per share.
  • Cornerstone ended trading with N0.92 kobo from N0.84 kobo per share, rising by 9.52 per cent.
  • Pharm Deko gained N0.18 kobo to end trading at N2.07, having opened with N1.89 kobo per share.
  • FTN Cocoa stock was up by 9.23 per cent, closing at N0.71 kobo from N0.65 kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • John Holt depreciated by N0.17 kobo, dwindling from N1.72 kobo to N1.55 kobo per share.
  • Multiverse also fell by N0.39 kobo to end trading at N3.70 kobo, after opening at N4.09 per share.
  • Chellarams followed the same path, losing N0.14 kobo after trading hours, to sell at N1.33 kobo from N1.47 kobo per share.
  • Omatek reported a decline of 9.09 per cent from the previous day’s share price of N0.22 kobo to end trading at N0.20 kobo per share.
  • Sunu Assurance’s share depreciated to N0.44 kobo from N0.48 kobo, after losing 8.33 per cent during trading hours.

Top five trading equities in the stock exchange

  • UBA reported 47.12 million shares, valued at N442.31 million, were traded on its floor.
  • Access Corporation recorded 39.91 million shares valued at N501.77 million.
  • GTCO saw investors trade 30.22 million shares valued at N846.87 million.
  • Fidelity Bank recorded 23.77 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N137.27 million.
  • Japaul Gold reported 16.84 million shares, valued at N6.73 million, exchanged investors’ hands.
