Stock Market Cap Shrinks To N28.40 trillion, Ardova, MRS Report Gains

Over N26.03 billion was lost on Thursday, 11 May, following -0.09 per cent decline in the stock market capitalisation, which contracted to N28.40 trillion, from N28.42 trillion posted on Wednesday, 10 May.

The All-Share Index moved downward from 52,209.06 ASI, after losing 47.82 basis points, to 52,161.24 ASI.

About 5,539 deals were sealed on Thursday after investors traded 477.37 million shares worth N5.24 billion, against the 554.31 million shares exchanged on Wednesday, in 5,168 deals, worth N5.95 billion. 

Top five gainers

  • Ardova’s share appreciated by N2.20kobo to rise from N22 to N24.20kobo per share.
  • NCR grew by N0.23kobo, up from N2.33kobo to N2.56kobo per share.
  • Multiverse ended trading with N4.12kobo from N3.75kobo per share, rising by N0.37kobo.
  • MRS gained N2.75kobo to end trading at N30.70kobo, having opened with N27.95kobo per share.
  • CWG’s stock was up by N0.17kobo, closing at N1.91kobo from N1.74kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • FCMB depreciated by N0.24kobo, dwindling from N4.24kobo to N4 per share.
  • Access Corp also fell by N0.40kobo to end trading at N10.20kobo, after opening at N10.60kobo per share.
  • Sterling Bank followed the same path, losing 3.53 per cent after trading hours, to sell at N1.64kobo from N1.70kobo per share.
  • Neimeth reported a decline of 3.33 per cent from the previous day’s share price of N1.50kobo to end trading at N1.45kobo per share.
  • Royal Exchange share depreciated to N0.58kobo from N0.60kobo, after losing 3.33 per cent during trading hours.

Top five trading equities in the stock exchange

  • Access Corp reported 169.32 million shares, valued at N1.74 billion, were traded on its floor.
  • UBA recorded 102.05 million shares valued at N819.27 million.
  • Fidelity Bank saw investors trade 30.38 million of its shares valued at N179.72 million.
  • GTCO recorded 30.38 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N730.88 million.
  • Zenith Bank reported 16.79 million shares, valued at N404.42 million, exchanged investors’ hands.
