Stock Investors Pocket N92.72bn Amid Gains In Nigerian Breweries, Cadbury, Others

Nigerian bourse appreciated by 0.38 percent on Monday, to close trading with N24.32 trillion market capitalisation.

At the end of the previous trading session, the market capitalisation had settled at N24.23 trillion but gained N92.72 billion during trading today. 

The All-Share Index increased the market valuation after rising by 170.23 basis points. The ASI rose from 44,492.73 ASI to 44,662.96 ASI.

Market data showed 3,607 deals were sealed today, after investors exchanged 159.56 million shares worth N1.95 billion. 

It was below the 146.67 million shares, worth N1.23 billion, exchanged on Friday in 3,028 deals.

Top five gainers

Nigerian Breweries share appreciated by N4.10kobo to rise from N41.25kobo to N45.35kobo per share.  

NEM grew by N0.37kobo, up from N3.75kobo to N4.12kobo per share.  

PZ ended trading with N0.75kobo from N8.60kobo per share, rising by N0.75kobo. 

Cadbury gained N0.75kobo to end trading at N11, having opened with N10.25kobo. 

Chams’ stock was up by 4.35 percent closing with N0.24kobo from N0.23kobo per share. 

Top five losers

Japaul Gold depreciated by 7.14 percent, dwindling from N0.28kobo to N0.26kobo per share.  

AIICO also fell by 5.36 percent to end trading at N0.53kobo, after opening with N0.56kobo per share.  

Mansard followed the same path, losing 5.08 percent after trading hours, to sell at N1.68kobo from N1.77kobo per share.  

Sterling Bank reported a decline of 1.41 percent from previous day’s share price of N1.42kobo to end trading at N1.40kobo per share. 

Jaiz Bank share depreciated to N0.89kobo from N0.90kobo, after losing 1.11 percent during trading hours.  

Top five trading equities in stock exchange

Transcorp reported 35.24 million shares valued at N39.39 million were traded on its floor.  

AIICO recorded 29.92 million shares valued at N16.01 million.  

Zenith Bank saw investors trade 11.47 million of its shares valued at N247.69 million.  

FBN Holding recorded 9.46 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N104.41 million.  

UBN reported 9.32 million shares valued at N61.05 million exchanged investors’ hands.
