Seun Kuti Resumes Europe Tour Amidst Legal Battle

Renowned Afrobeat musician, Seun Anikulapo Kuti, has triumphantly resumed his summer tour across Europe after facing a distressing encounter with law enforcement.

Having secured his release on bail, Kuti wasted no time in pursuing his passion, eager to reconnect with his fans and share his powerful music.

On the evening of May 25, 2023, Seun Kuti announced his departure for Zurich, Switzerland, where his eagerly anticipated concert would mark the commencement of his European tour.

Taking to Instagram, he posted a snapshot of himself aboard an airplane, accompanied by the exciting caption, “Euro tour kicks off tonight in Zurich.”

Originally scheduled to take place from May 20 to August 16, 2023, Kuti’s tour faced an unexpected setback when he was arrested on May 15, 2023. Video footage captured the artist engaging in a physical altercation with a police officer on the Third Mainland Bridge, resulting in his subsequent detainment at the state criminal investigation Department (SCID).
