Senator Calls For 50 Dangotes, 50 BUAs, 50 Otedolas To Compete Globally

In a groundbreaking revelation during the Senate’s screening of Dr. Cardoso for the role of CBN Governor, Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyi, Senator representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District has ignited a discussion that transcends the ordinary.

With an impassioned call for a competitive revolution, he envisions a Nigeria bustling with not just one, but 50 Dangotes, 50 BUAs, and 50 Otedolas taking on the world stage.

Senator Wadada, known for his candid insights, minced no words as he addressed Dr. Cardoso, saying, “But my colleagues, there are two areas that I need to take you on. Number one is monopoly; we all know it stifles growth and development.”

The former member of the House of Representatives remarks were punctuated with a bold vision: “Because of the potential that Nigeria has, we are supposed to have nothing less than 50 Dangotes competing around the globe, 50 BUAs, 50 Otedolas, and more.”

These words resonate with the dream of economic prosperity in Nigeria. The trio of Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola, and Abdul Samad Rabiu, prominent industrialists, and billionaires in the country, have been flag bearers in sectors ranging from cement to food manufacturing to power. Their success stories highlight the immense potential within Nigeria’s borders.

Senator Wadada’s call for eliminating monopolies and promoting competition is seen as a crucial step towards unlocking Nigeria’s latent economic prowess.

He believes that the nation possesses colossal human capital potential, but it’s imperative to implement policies that facilitate growth and development.

Moreover, the Senator emphasized the need to integrate the informal sector into the mainstream economy. He passionately suggested that 60% of the population, primarily comprising youth, should be seamlessly incorporated into the economic fabric of the nation, thereby fueling Nigeria’s economic growth.
