REVEALED: See Who Becomes APC National Chairman, Secretary, Others

As the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)  insists on holding its National Convention on February 26, 2022, despite the ongoing horse-trading, both the party and President Muhammadu Buhari are sticking to the zoning arrangement.

Except for the Northeast, said to be warming up to produce the National Organising Secretary, the fate of other zones regarding the national party positions had been sealed before the President left the country today (Tuesday).

APC  governors, Prime Business Africa learnt, have already booked an appointment with the President after his  return from the European Union-Africa Union Summit in Brussels, Belgium. The meeting is expected to seal the deal on party national offices.

APC Works For ‘Unity List’ Ahead Of February 26 National Convention

Asked why the party failed to sell forms to candidates between February 14 and 19  as originally scheduled, a source within the APC national leadership  said, ”the unity list being prepared would ensure a consensus and, therefore, make competitive approach a nullity.”

Multiple sources within the APC leadership confirmed that North central would produce the National Chairman while Southeast will produce the National Secretary.

South South has the office of the Deputy National Chairman reserved for it; while the Southwest has the office of the National Publicity Secretary.

Prime Business Africa had reported on Tuesday night that, ”owing to the brewing crisis regarding the zoning arrangement, a lot of horse-trading and concessions are being made and  the party, in conjunction with the Presidency, is now  working assiduously to come up with a ‘unity list’ that will equally  respect the agreed zoning arrangement.”

The ‘unity list,’ sources familiar with the entire plan told Prime Business Africa,  will only work to achieve a consensus based only on personalities that would emerge from the designated zones for each of the national offices.
