Over N126.76 billion Lost Amid Sell-Off In Oando, Glaxo Smith, Others

On Wednesday, 15 March 2023, the stock market capitalisation shed –0.41 per cent in valuation, as it fell to N30.22 trillion.

The decline represents N126.76 billion when the N30.22 trillion market capitalisation is compared to the N30.35 trillion reported on Tuesday. 

In the same vein, the All-Share Index slumped to 55,490.2 ASI from 55,722.9 ASI, losing 232.7 basis points. 

On the exchange floor, about 181.18 million shares, worth N3.40 billion, were exchanged in 3,908 deals on Wednesday.

Investors traded 199.26 million shares, in 3,898 deals on Tuesday, worth N2.81 billion. 

Top five gainers

  • Prestige’s share appreciated by 7.89 per cent to rise from N0.38kobo to N0.41kobo per share
  • Veritas Kapital grew by 5 per cent, up from N0.20kobo to N0.21kobo per share
  • NGX Group ended trading with N28 from N26.70kobo per share, rising by N1.30kobo.
  • Unilever gained N0.50kobo to end trading at N14, having opened with N13.50kobo per share.
  • Japaul Gold’s stock was up by 3.57 per cent, closing at N0.29kobo from N0.28kobo per share

Top five losers 

  • United Capital depreciated by N1.20kobo, dwindling from N12.90kobo to N11.70kobo per share.
  • UPL also fell by N0.15kobo to end trading at N1.85kobo, after opening with N2 per share.
  • Glaxo Smith followed the same path, losing N0.50kobo after trading hours, to sell at N6.20kobo from N6.70kobo per share.
  • Neimeth reported a decline of N0.11kobo from the previous day’s share price of N1.57kobo to end trading at N1.46kobo per share.
  • Oando’s share depreciated to N4.01 from N4.30kobo, after losing N0.29kobo during trading hours.

  • GTCO reported 33.85 million shares valued at N841.94 million were traded on its floor
  • Transcorp recorded 20.12 million shares valued at N26.61 million
  • Zenith Bank saw investors trade 18.56 million of its shares valued at N26.61 million
  • Flour Mill recorded 18.49 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N573.14 million
  • UBA reported 15.14 million shares, valued at N121.59 million, exchanged investors’ hands
