OMICRON: Piers Morgan Reacts As New Zealand Prime Minister  Cancels Wedding

CONTROVERSIAL TV presenter, Piers Morgan on Sunday reacted to the news of the New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern’s decision to cancel her wedding on fears over the OMICRON coronavirus variant.

Piers said there was no need to overrate the OMICRON concern when the majority of the people have been innoculated at least twice.

Prime Minister Ardern on Sunday canceled her upcoming wedding plans following spike in COVID-19  cases as well as the tightened restrictions in the country.

Reuters reported Ardern as simply saying, “Such is life,” when asked by reporters how she felt about the cancellation.

She said: “I am no different to, dare I say it, thousands of other New Zealanders who have had much more devastating impacts felt by the pandemic, the most gutting of which is the inability to be with a loved one sometimes when they are gravely ill.

“That will far, far outstrip any sadness I experience.”

Strict new COVID-19 restrictions were put in place following the report of a cluster of nine cases of the Omicron variant in Auckland.

A family who traveled by plane for a wedding of 100 people had tested positive; the same for a flight attendent.

But Piers Morgan in a reaction he tweeted with his Iphone on Sunday said the fear was unnecessary.

“Given over 90% of New Zealand’s eligible population has had at least two doses of COVID vaccine, and Omicron is indisputably a significantly less severe strain of the virus, I’m not sure why Jacinda Ardern is implementing draconian new restrictions & cancelling her wedding,” Piers Morgan concluded.
