Oil And Gas Industry Leaders To Convene For 12th Practical Nigerian Content Forum

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in collaboration with DMG Events and the Bayelsa State Government, is set to host the 12th edition of the annual Practical Nigerian Content (PNC).
This event is scheduled to begin on December 4 at the iconic 17-story Nigerian Content Tower in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

Among the distinguished guests expected to honour this crucial event are the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri and his Gas counterpart H.E. Hon. Ekperikpo Ekpo. They are to give ministerial addresses on the direction of the Federal Government’s thinking concerning Nigerian Content and investment strategies.

Opening keynote address will be delivered by the Executive Secretary of NCDMB,Engr. Simbi Kesiye Wabote, while industry leaders like Engr. Gbenga Komolafe of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and Engr. Farouk Ahmed of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Authority (NMDPA), and also, Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited are anticipated to be present.

The key subjects for discussion in the 2023 edition, centre around “Providing an Enabling Environment for Investment in the Energy Sector,” “Opportunities in
Decarbonisation and Domestic Gas Utilization,” “Deepening Nigerian Content in the Manufacturing Sector,” and “Financing a Thriving Midstream Sector for Socioeconomic Development,” and Sustainable Framework for Human Capacity
Development.”

The international oil companies (IOCs), members of the Independent Petroleum Producers Group (IPPG), and service companies will actively engage.

The forum is set to serve as a platform for; discussing the latest developments and challenges in the oil and gas sector, interaction between prospective investors, clients, fund managers, and key government officials, collaborative opportunities between the public and private sectors, academia, and emerging prospects stemming from divestments by IOCs and the industry’s decarbonisation initiatives.

This year’s edition is slated to open on Monday, December 3 with an invitational golf tourney, welcome dinner, and is to close on Thursday, December 7, 2023 with a visit by delegates to the facility of MG VOWGAS in Port Harcourt, River State, solidifying the practical outcomes of this influential gathering.

As the event unfolds within these four days, the focus remains on advancing Nigerian Content, fostering partnerships, and shaping the trajectory of the energy sector for socioeconomic development.
