Ohanaeze To Aba Industrialists: Utilize Geometric Power Opportunity To Boost Economic Activities

Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has called on residents and industrialists in Aba, the commercial city of Abia State to take advantage of the unique opportunity presented by the Geometric Power Project to boost their productive activities.

Ohanaeze President-General, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, made the call while congratulating the founder and chairman of Geometric Power, Professor Bart Nnaji, the governor, Dr Alex Otti, and the people of Abia State, on the successful commissioning of the 181 megawatts Power Plant, the first of its kind in Nigeria in Aba on Monday, 26 February 2024.

Chief Iwuanyanwu remarked that Prof. Nnaji, a two-time Nigerian minister, is an exceptional Igbo, industrious and multi-dimensional expert in artificial intelligence, geometric logic, robotics, power and manufacturing engineering.

In the words of Iwuanyanwu: “Professor Nnaji has succeeded. In spite of the daunting challenges in the course of the project, he pulled through. Whoever has solved the electricity problem in Nigeria is a game changer, cosmic agent, and unarguably, is the most outstanding Nigerian. Professor Bart Nnaji will go down in history as the most outstanding African Engineer.”

President Bola Tinubu had on Monday, commissioned the power plant which is billed to supply electricity to nine out of the 17 local government areas in Abia State. This came 20 years after the project was birthed in the city of Aba.

The Igbo Leader said the successful installation of the power plant is a major breakthrough for the good people of Abia State, adding that the Geometric Power Plant will help to catalyze the fantastic vision of Governor Otti for the State.

He expressed hope that Aba which is noted for indigenous manufacturing, resilience, ingenuity, innovation, and entrepreneurship will surely take advantage of this unique opportunity to boost economic activities in the area.

The Ohanaeze president-general equally seized the opportunity to urge other Igbo experts in diverse fields all over the world to emulate the ‘Think Home’ philosophy of Prof. Nnaji.

Iwuanyanwu noted that in the United States alone, the Igbo have eminent experts with global acclaim, such as Dr. Emmitt McHenry, an American Igbo, and computer wizard who developed the .com code for the Internet E-Mails; Philip Emeagwali, the best in computer programming;  Professor Charles Ifeanyi Umeh, mechatronics and advanced electronic packaging and laser processing applications; Dr. Aloysius Anaebonam, a renowned pharmacist; Emeka Nchekwube, neurological surgeon with four patents in the field of medicine; Cyprian Emeka Uzoh, who has patents for the development of electroplated interconnector structures on integrated circuit chips among others.

The Ohanaeze leader stated that one of the problems of the Third World and indeed Nigeria is the inability to use the best we have for optimum outputs; the inability to make the right choice at critical junctures, and the capitulation to ethnic rivalry even at the risk of national catastrophe. “Records show that Nigeria recorded an unprecedented quantum leap in electricity supply under Professor Bart Nnaji as the Minister of Power, but he resigned because of the characteristic Nigerian shenanigan.”

He advised Prof Nnaji to remain undaunted in his burning desire to transform Igbo land.
