Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has visited Mrs Jennifer Efidi, who was attacked at her polling unit during the presidential and national assembly elections on 25th February 2023.
Mrs Efidi was reportedly attacked by hoodlums who invaded the Nuru/Oniwo Ward, Polling Unit 065, in Surulere, Lagos, while she and other voters were waiting to vote on Saturday, February 25.
Obi paid her a courtesy visit on Monday.
“Today, I visited Mrs Jennifer Efidi. She was attacked on 25th February in an attempt to stop her from voting, but she stood her ground. Jennifer is one of the great icons of Nigeria’s democracy,” Obi wrote on his Twitter handle on Monday.
Jenifer Efidi was attacked in her face in her polling unit by some political tugs loyal to a political party to stop her from casting her vote. She, however, came back to cast her vote after she received medical treatment.
