The Nigeria Football Federation and Sports apparel giants, NIKE, on Thursday extended its contract for the kitting of Nigeria national teams until December 2026 reports Prime Business Africa.
NIKE kitted the Super Eagles for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2019 Africa Cup of Nations which were a huge success with the kits selling out in 2018 as supporters pre ordered millions of them within three minutes of its official release.
American-owned manufacturers NIKE will also provide kits for the Super Falcons and other cadre teams.
President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Melvin Pinnick disclosed that the negotiations had been on-going for the past one month before agreement was made by both parties.
Pinnick whose tenure will end on 30 September 2022 when the elective congress of the Federation will vote for a new leadership expressed his utmost satisfaction that the objective of the Federation to have sponsors beyond his tenure is turning into reality.
NIKE also opened three Mega stores in Lagos, Nigeria to mark the contract extension.
