Nigeria’s music queen and star actress Onyeka Onwenu has spared a thought on the continued abduction of Leah Sharibu, one of the Government Girls’ Science and Technology College Dapchi students in Yobe state who were kidnapped on 19 February 2018.

Nigeria’s music queen and star actress Onyeka Onwenu has spared a thought on the continued abduction of Leah Sharibu, one of the Government Girls’ Science and Technology College Dapchi students in Yobe state who were kidnapped on 19 February 2018.

The ‘Elegant Stallion’ in a post on her social media handle prayed God to protect the young Leah who has been denied freedom by her Boko Haram abductors unlike a few of the girls who regained their freedom.

Watch video here:

“Tomorrow Saturday February 19 will make it 4 years since the abduction of our daughter Leah Sharibu.

“She will never, never, never be forgotten. She is in God’s hands and it will end in glory. Please share as widely as you can and pray for her and all the Leahs in our country Nigeria. God bless you,” the One Love star who has acted in blockbuster movies like Chain Reaction, Ladies Cot, Nightmare, Night of A Yellow Sun etc pleaded passionately.

Onwenu recently became a Septuagenarian as she marked her 70th birthday which elicited fecilitations from well meaning Nigerians including President Muhammadu Buhari.

While five of the school girls died and others released later, Leah was still kept hostage following her refusal to convert to Islam from her Christian faith, and the terror sect later vowed to keep her as a slave.

Captured at the age of 14, she had spent her 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th birthday with the dreaded Boko Haram fighters who are said to have married her off to one of their commanders.

Meanwhile the Arochukwu-born entertainer has teamed up with the father of the captive, gospel music act, Pernam Percy-Paul and human rights activist Reno Omokri to produce a heart rendering  jingle (above) to mark the fourth anniversary of the abduction by Boko Haram/ISWAP titled ‘Angels On Guard’.
