Nigerian comedian, Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu aka Sabinus has felt a sense of infringement on his intellectual property right by two major brands in Nigeria and has gone ahead to file actions against them.
Sabinus filed a suit against Peak Milk for using his trademark slang “Something Hooge” in an advert for their brand without permission and is asking for a N1 billion compensation for what he considered an infraction.
He also sued Gala sausage roll brand for using his cartoon image without his consent and is asking for N100 million Naira.
Sabinus’ lawyer went public on social media to demand for the compensation and also showed receipts and picture of the ad flyers that were created and the letters issued.
