FOLLOWING the leadership crisis in the Ogoni kingdom which culminated in the formation of the Movement for The Survival of Ogoni People (MOSOP), the Congress of the body on Saturday reached a six point agreement highlighted by the decision to dissolve all its factions as announced by its members in January 2021.

The Congress ruled that any of the dissolved factions that continues to undertake anti MOSOP activities inimical to the corporate and collective interest of the Ogoni people will be summarily expelled from MOSOP.

The Congress authorized the MOSOP Peace Committee to set up an electoral Committee that will, according to the constitution of MOSOP, conduct free and fair elections into the central executive Committee and its affiliates except the National Union of Ogoni Students whose election is annual

The Congress further called on the traditional institutions and political leadership of the Ogoni people to sustain their efforts to unite Ogoni and contribute their quota to the development of the land.

The decision making body observed with utmost concern the deplorable security situation in Ogoni and mandates the MPCC to work with all and the security agents to ensure sustainable peace in Ogoni.

The Congress mandated the MPC and MPCC to continue to oversee the affairs of MOSOP until a new executive is inaugurated.

The resolution was signed by the following: Barrister Ledum Mitee, Dr Owens Wiwa, Engr Olu Andah Wai-Ogosu, Chief, Kenneth Kobani, Prof Ben Naanen, Mr Legborsi Pyagbara, Barrister Joi Nunieh, Queen Georgina Tenalo

Evangelist Caroline Nagbo, Dr Abraham Olungwe, Chief Otua Nakwasa, Chief Monday Abue and Mr Miigbara Tanee.
