Real Madrid midfield maestro Luka Modric has reportedly turned down an interest from Manchester City as his contract is expected to run down in six months time.
With less than six months remaining on his contract at the Bernabeu, the 36-year-old is free to discuss terms with foreign clubs.
A number of teams from England’s top flight – including Man City – are allegedly monitoring the situation as they look to bring in the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder.
However, according to El Nacional, Modric has already turned down the chance to pen a two-year contract with Premier League leaders City.
The report claims that the Croatian legend remains intent on extending his stay at Los Blancos, even though they are yet to present him with acceptable terms.
Modric remains a key play at the La Liga giants, making a total of 21 starts and one substitute appearance in all competitions this season.
