Lagos Police Arrest 103 Hoodlums, Recover Drugs, Weapons

The effort of the Lagos State Police Command in sanitizing the society and ridding it of criminally minded individuals proved successful when the command nabbed 103 hoodlums.

The State Police Command was commended for a job well done by the Fight Against Corruption Organization (FACO), Chairman, Dr. Francis Shopekan.

He hailed the Lagos state command for clearing hoodlums and miscreants from the streets of Lagos and encouraged them to keep up the good.

The police in Lagos had on 19th and 20th July 2021, raided some black spots, specifically Oshodi Oke and Oshodi under Bridge, where One Hundred and Three hoodlums were arrested with dangerous weapons.

On the strength of the Commissioner of Police instruction to go after hoodlums and miscreants who might want to create security threats and attack unsuspecting Lagosians during and after the Eid-El Kabir celebration in Lagos State, the Commander Taskforce and Commander Rapid Response Squad embarked on the raid of Oshodi area of Lagos State and arrested the suspects, recovered drugs and weeds suspected to be Indian hemp and dangerous weapons.

Due to complaints received and isolated cases of robbery in traffic and harassment at Oshodi area, Mr. Hakkem Odumosu ordered the Commander RRS, CSP Yinka Egbeyemi, and Commander Taskforce, CSP Sola Jejeloye, to consistently raid, police Oshodi area and other identified areas that are vulnerable to attacks.

The hoodlums would be charged to court on the orders of Commissioner of Police, as the command plans more raids of such black spots in the state.

CP Odumosu also charged other tactical Commanders to go after hoodlums.
