Lagos Places Ban On Movement For LG/LCDA Election

There will be no movement between the hours of 8am and 3pm in Lagos tomorrow, Saturday July 24, 2021, owing to the Local Government and Local Development Council Area elections scheduled to hold.

Commissioner for information and strategy, Mr, Gbenga Omotosho, who disclosed this, said that the restriction for movement is to allow for a hitch free election and also facilitate ease of movement for the electorates, election materials and LASIEC officials.

Meanwhile, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has warned politicians , supporters, stakeholders and Lagosians to play by the rule book as the police and other security agencies will be deployed for proper monitoring, hence any act of thuggery, hooliganism, electoral malpractices and criminality will not be tolerated in any part of the state throughout the elections.

He added, that the Command has put measures in place to enforce restriction of movement order across the state between the hours of 6am and 3pm on Saturday 24th July, 2021, with exception to only those on election duty and essential services.

Odumosu assured Lagosian, LASIEC officials, candidates, accredited election observers and other actors in the elections of adequate security through the election.
