Jonathan Majors, known for his role in “Creed III,” made a virtual appearance in a Manhattan court on Tuesday to address charges of assault and harassment stemming from an incident that occurred in March.
His attorney, Priya Chaudry, claims that the case is a racially biased “witch hunt” and provided the District Attorney with what she describes as “irrefutable evidence” that the victim is lying.
During the hearing, which took place via Zoom, Jonathan Majors confirmed his consent to appear virtually rather than in person. According to PEOPLE, he did not make any further statements during the proceeding.
In a statement obtained by The Shade Room, attorney Priya Chaudry vehemently denounced the assault case against Jonathan Majors as a victim of racial bias. She asserted that they have presented the District Attorney with compelling evidence, including video footage that contradicts the victim’s claims.

Chaudry expressed her concern that the charges against her client were being adjusted to align with the shifting narrative of the accuser.
Chaudry highlighted the inconsistencies in the victim’s story, pointing out the changing details regarding the location of the incident and the evolving nature of her account as the case progressed. She accused the district attorney of modifying the charges to fit the accuser’s changing statements.
It is important to note that there are no new charges against Jonathan Majors; however, the court has issued a revised domestic violence charge, according to AP News.
Furthermore, Chaudry mentioned that they possess additional video evidence that supports Jonathan Majors’ innocence. However, due to concerns that sharing this evidence might prompt the accuser to modify her story once again, they are hesitant to disclose it at this time.
The attorney further argued that her client, a prominent actor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is a victim of racial bias. Chaudry called attention to what she perceives as a double standard in the treatment of Jonathan Majors compared to his accuser.
She emphasized that the criminal justice system is infused with both explicit and implicit bias, and the differential treatment in this case underscores the racial bias prevalent within the system.
Jonathan Majors was arrested on March 25, 2023, in Manhattan on misdemeanour charges of strangulation, assault, and harassment following an alleged domestic dispute with his girlfriend.
In an updated complaint, the woman claimed that the incident occurred around 12:40 a.m. in downtown Manhattan, where Majors allegedly caused injury and pain to her right middle finger.
