THE Plateau State Government has been called upon to take decisive actions against the killers of 22 Muslims in the state on Friday.
An Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, who made the call, also said he would take legal action on the matter.
He said “We call on the Muslim community to be patient and not take matters into their own hands. Be patient and we follow the government until we see where they stop, then give it to us and we will join ours if we are not satisfied. We will take all legal action.
“There should be compensation for those who were killed, those who were injured and those who were arrested and found guilty in this incident should be punished in accordance with the law, to ensure that such interruptions do not happen again.”
According to the cleric, if the government says it can no longer secure lives and properties and allow others to take over, the citizenry will suffer.
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police. Usman Alkali Baba has ordered and deployed special forces under the DIG. Sanusi N. Lemu to Plateau State, to investigate and arrest those involved in the killings.
