INEC Holds Mega Concert Ahead 2023 General Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday assured Nigerian youths that their votes will count in the 2023 general elections reports Prime Business Africa.

The election arbitar made this assertion at the INEC Mega Concert tagged ‘Youth Vote Count’ held at the Old Parade Ground, Abuja in conjunction with the European Union and YIAGA Africa.

INEC also announced that the voters’ cards will be available from October 2022.

The event organisers said the concert was aimed at sensitising and educating the young eligible voters who might have doubted if their votes will count.

Nigerian music acts who performed at the event include Innocent Idibia (2baba), Waje, Broda Shaggi, Omawunmi, Cobhams Asuquo, Bankole Wellington, Falz and Zlatan.

The celebrities while speaking with newsmen harped on the need for Nigerian youths to vote for the candidate that will not buy them over with money.

Izuchukwu Okosi

Izuchukwu Okosi is a Nigerian sports and entertainment journalist with two decades of experience in the media industry having begun his media journey in 2002 as an intern at Mundial Sports International (MSI) and Africa Independent Television (AIT), owners of Daar Communications Plc. Okosi is a member of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Association of Movie Producers (AMP), Association of Voiceover Artistes of Nigeria (AVOA), Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) and Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ). He has been part of cast in some Nollywood movies and radio dramas including Blood Money 2, Scores To Settle, Dead End 2, Another Campus Tale and Battle Line. Aside mainstream media and the entertainment industry, he has interests in scouting/unearthing of talents in the sports and creative sectors, exports business and property development.
