I’ll Work Hard To Build On Buhari’s Legacies, Tinubu Pledges

Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu has pledged to work hard and continue building on the legacies of President Muhammadu Buhari for the good of the country if elected in the Saturday, 25^th February election.

Tinubu made the pledge to Buhari while speaking during the grand finale of the APC presidential campaign rally in Lagos on Tuesday, 21st February.

President Buhari joined Tinubu and other top APC officials, including Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and members of the party presidential campaign council for the final lap of the campaign which took place at the Teslim Balogun Stadium (TBS), Surulere, Lagos, ahead of the Saturday presidential election.

The former governor of Lagos thanked Buhari for allowing the due process that led to his emergence in the primary and subsequently supporting him in the campaign process.

“Thank you, Mr President, you followed the procedure. You encourage all of us. The primary came, the vote was cast and we all waited anxiously and I won the votes. You didn’t ask them to reverse it,” Tinubu stated.

“You set our foot on the path of the future to work hard and achieve greatness because it is desirable for Nigeria to be great.

“You said for anybody to succeed you, he or she must work hard, must follow the law, that the election must be very transparent, and that your party will be a shining example like a sun shining on the mountain.

“Thank you, Mr President, you followed the procedure. You encourage all of us. The primary came, the vote was cast and we all waited anxiously and I won the votes. You didn’t ask them to reverse it.”

The APC presidential flag bearer also pledged to tackle insecurity by reforming and re-equipping the military forces to be better prepared to combat insurgents, terrorists and other criminal elements.

“will redefine military doctrine and practice anti-Terrorist battalions, improve salary and welfare, upgrade tactical communications and transportation, upgrade weapon systems, exploit aerial and technological opportunities.”

Tinubu had emerged as the ruling party’s presidential candidate in the 8^th June primary election where he defeated 13 other aspirants to clinch the ticket.

As the date for the presidential election draws closer, all the presidential candidates are rounding up their campaigns. Out of the 18 political parties participating in the election, the leading candidates are Tinubu of the APC, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Political Party (NNPP).
