I Do Love School, It Stems From A Place Of Control – Says Oluchi MBGN 2021

IT’S been over a week since Oluchi Madubuike won the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria in 2021. And while congratulations are still in order, the buzz around Oluchi has been pretty quiet. While we earnestly wait to know what’s up with the crowned most beautiful girl in Nigeria, here are a handful of tidbits about Nigeria’s representative at the 70th edition of the Miss World pageant 2021.

Born in 1996, Oluchi is the only female daughter of her parent. She is from a family of three with one older brother and younger brother. Her father is currently late. After her win, she took to Instagram celebrating her win while remembering her late father “I’m sure my dad is with the host of angels in heaven celebrating me”. She hails from Abia state but resides in Detroit, Michigan.

Oluchi is a lover of school contrary to what many might think? “I think I like it because I usually do well in it” says Oluchi in a “Get to Know me Tag” video. According to her, while the school does not provide as much delight gratification as real life, her love for it stems from a place of control “I feel like I kind of control how my grades will look like based on how much effort I put in. But in real life, you be putting effort but it’s not showing where you want it.”

For someone who has achieved a lot, outside of school, Oluchi is shy about sharing with people her accolades. In 2016, during her college years in the University of Texas studying Nursing, Oluchi has crowned Miss Africa Texas. She, however, did her primary and secondary school education at Charles Dale memorial international school in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Oluchi was also crowned Miss Abia State at the Miss Nigeria USA at Kumble Theatre in Brooklyn, New York. Before her win as MBGN 2021, Oluchi worked with ADEX medical staffing in Detroit, US as an emergency room nurse.

It would seem that Oluchi somehow had prior knowledge of her winning the MBGN 2021, or is just one who believes that professing your wants and taking ownership of your dreams is key to achieving them. Because hours before the show, Oluchi took to Instagram professing what can only be called a ‘win statement’.

“It’s showtime! It’s been a phenomenal life-changing journey so far, and so grateful for @mbgn_silverbird for this opportunity. Praying to God for the best outcome! Thank you God for everything, you’ve gone above and beyond for me through this entire process! Thank you to everyone who has supported and continued to believe in me. I hope to make you all proud. To my support system, I love you! To my mom, thank you for being my rock! And lastly to my dad, thank you for being my greatest inspiration in life and in death; this one’s for you!

P.S – I am manifesting, so please say a prayer for me.”

What a prayer answered.

One more thing, our MBGN, is a YouTuber with over 50 videos up on her channel. She shares and creates contents around her life, beauty, fashion and lifestyle whilst spreading love and inspiration. Her YouTube channel is OLUCHI M. So to know more about her, stay tuned to that channel.
