Humanitarian Affairs Ministry Reveals How NPower Batch C Applicants Can Confirm Selection

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs has revealed how Nigerians who applied to become NPower beneficiaries can confirm their selection by the Federal Government for Batch C of the empowerment programme.

According to the official Twitter account of the Social Investment Programme of the Nigerian government, NPower applicants are to first verify their acceptance via nasims.gov.ng, which would reveal their physical verification venue.

The Nasims portal had initially been used to conduct test for the NPower applicants. The statement released on Sunday, disclosed NPower applicants can also use USSD code, *45665# to confirm their physical verification venue.

Recall that about 500,000 NPower Batch A and B beneficiaries had been selected in 2016 and 2017 respectively, before they both exited the programme in 2020. For two years, there was no new intake into the programme.

However, the update from the NPower official Twitter handle has revealed that physical exercise of the programme will begin from June 14 to 25, 2022, for Batch C, and beneficiaries are mandated to come along with their NPower identification number, Valid means of identification, as well as Academic credentials.

The new development comes after the Ministry Humanitarian Affairs onboard 3,000 Stream 2 Independent Monitors for the National Social Investments Programmes (NSIP), which NPower is part of.

“The NSIP Independent Monitors are responsible for monitoring the NSIP Programmes in their communities, schools, households and market clusters with focus of ensuring that the Primary Objectives of the NSIPs are achieved.

“We have monitors in every Local Government where the NSIP is being implemented. Through the Social Investment Management Information System (SIMIS) application, our Stream 1 monitors have uploaded over 220,000 reports to date on the application, giving us good visibility on the programmes in the communities.” The head of the Ministry, Sadiya Umar Farouq, who was represented at the onboarding exercise at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja, by the Permanent Secretary, Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, said, two days ago.
